Since 1961, the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), the specialized entity of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), has been an association of organizations and individuals whose activities and interests focus on the education and training of public administrators and managers committed to improving Administrative Sciences around the world by promoting good governance and supporting the pursuit of modern and accountable public administration that joint to ICAPA continues contributing to the improvement of quality of education and training in our field that today more than ever, it confirms its international dimension.
Influence the global governance agenda through high-impact events targeting and involving both public service and academe; production and dissemination of relevant knowledge on public governance; enabling collaborative and strategic projects with members and partners; and accrediting both academic and professional training programs in line with standards of best practices in public management.
At the IASIA 2022 Conference, in Morocco for the first time, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, we resumed our on-site academic activities, Implementing and Promoting Effective Governance Principles to Leave No One, No Place Behind, with the support of the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG Africa), and the African Local Governments Academy (ALGA) in partnership with the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences - Agdal of Mohammed V de Rabat. In general, as a result of the multiple sessions of our ten Working Groups, Ph.D. seminar, panels, workshops, and plenary sessions, we concluded we need to share best practices and experiences for managing global challenges, human capital development, and training civil servants to enhance their competencies and capacities, a responsible and committed public administration with a looking forward vision, strengthen the participation and engagement of citizens, reduce inequalities, and provide good services to all, especially aging persons and those with vulnerabilities.
As the newly elected IASIA President, with a new Board of Management for the next three years period, I reaffirm our mission and pledge to jointly work to be a key player in setting the governance agenda worldwide to serve citizens better and meet their needs and expectations, co-creating and being resilient, benevolent, and empathetic with determination, goodwill, and within a spirit of collaboration, transparency, loyalty, ethics, and values, and with a great desire to achieve things together, relying on our collective intelligence, and having a deep feeling that we are doing our part as a strong team and family.
I invite members, partners, civil servants, governments, and collectivity to continue building the IASIA for the next six decades.
