During the IASIA 2024 Conference, held in Bloemfontein, South Africa, from July 1 to 5, 2024, the annual awards ceremony celebrated distinguished contributions to the field of public administration.


The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) held its General Assembly on July 4th, 2024, in a hybrid mode, combining both in-person and virtual participation. The event took place in Bloemfontein, South Africa, chaired by Dr. Najat Zarrouk, IASIA President, who presented the 2024 President's Report. This report underscored significant advancements and introduced strategic proposals aimed at shaping the future of public administration.


The IASIA 2024 Conference, one of the three leading annual conferences of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), was held in Bloemfontein, South Africa, from July 1 to 5, 2024.   Organized in close collaboration with the University of the Free State (UFS) and addressing the theme "Alternative Service Delivery and Sustainable Societal Responsiveness", the event brought together global experts to explore cutting-edge solutions for contemporary public governance challenges.


The IASIA Board of Management has proudly endorsed Dr. Blue Wooldridge as the Acting Chair of the ICAPA Accreditation Committee. This appointment follows the unfortunate passing of Allan Rosenbaum, the previous Chair, and comes at a critical time when experienced leadership is essential for managing ongoing accreditation decisions.

This year, we are celebrating 25 years of cooperation and dialogue on Public Administration Accreditation in Europe and we have invited Theo van der Krogt, former EAPAA secretary, and Geert Bouckaert, the first EAPAA chairman, to write some words about this remarkable journey and the significant milestones achieved along the way.


Prof. Jean-Michel Eymeri-Douzans, President of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA), attended the 32nd Annual Conference of the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee) held at Caucasus University, Tbilisi, Georgia, from May 22-25, 2024. This year’s conference focused on the theme: “Public Administration in Post-Conflict Reconstruction.”


We are thrilled to announce that over 670 proposals and numerous panel submissions on cutting-edge topics have been submitted for the upcoming EGPA Annual Conference, to be held in Athens this September.


The EGPA Permanent Study Group XII on Public Sector Financial Management hosted its Spring Workshop on May 9-10, 2024, at the University of Basilicata in Matera, Italy. The workshop, themed "The Role of Sustainability and Digital Transformation as Propellers of Public Value Creation," attracted over 70 participants from 10 countries, including Brazil and Australia, reflecting its global significance.
