The International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) has reached the final stage of its search for a new Director General, with two candidates selected to proceed to consideration by the Council of Administration.
Following the international call for applications launched earlier this year, the Selection Committee has shortlisted Professor C. Sheela Reddy, Central University of Andhra Pradesh (India), and Professor Diana Stirbu of London Metropolitan University (United Kingdom).
Both candidates bring extensive experience in public administration, governance, higher education, and institutional leadership. Professor Reddy has held senior academic and administrative positions in India and has been actively involved in executive training programmes for public officials, international cooperation initiatives, and public administration research. Professor Stirbu is a specialist in public policy and governance whose work has focused on democratic institutions, public engagement, territorial governance, and public sector innovation.
The final stage of the selection process will take place during the IIAS Governance Week in Brussels. On 12 June 2026, the Council of Administration will meet to consider the appointment of the Institute’s next Director General.
The Director General provides the strategic and operational leadership of IIAS, supporting the implementation of the Institute’s mission and activities while working closely with its governing bodies, members, partners, and stakeholders around the world.
The appointment will mark an important step in shaping the future direction of IIAS as it continues to strengthen its role as a global platform for dialogue, research, education, and cooperation in public administration
