Celebrating a Year of Achievements and Shared Endeavors

Diogo Pereira,

As we approach the end of the year, it is with great joy and gratitude that we extend our warmest Season's Greetings to the entire IIAS community. Taking a moment to look back, we are truly grateful for the collective achievements and shared experiences that have made 2023 a standout year for us all.

Our community sparkled on the global stage, weaving connections and insights at the IIAS Conference in Qatar, the IASIA Conference in the Philippines, and the EGPA Conference in Croatia. These events weren't just academic events; they were vibrant celebrations of diverse perspectives, bringing together scholars and practitiners, and fostering a tapestry of ideas that propelled the administrative sciences forward.

Throughout 2023, we delved into rich discussions spurred by four thought-provoking issues of the International Review of Administrative Sciences (IRAS). Each issue brought its unique perspectives, and the special Africa-focused edition of Developments in Administration (DinA) emphasized the importance of embracing diverse voices in shaping the future of public governance.

Our efforts in the IIAS Public Governance Series gained recognition on the global stage, with the book "Good Public Governance in a Global Pandemic" being referenced in the latest World Public Sector Report by UN DESA. This acknowledgment reaffirms the global impact of our research and the relevance of our work in shaping public governance advancements.

Our panel on the potential and pitfalls of Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration showcased our commitment to exploring and understanding emerging trends that will undoubtedly shape the future of our field. And the books published under the IIAS Public Governance Series and the Governance and Public Management Series reinforce our commitment to produce and disseminate relevant content for both scholars and practitioners.

As we celebrate these milestones, the IIAS team wants to express our heartfelt gratitude to each member of the IIAS community. Your unwavering support and dedication have made 2023 a year to remember. Looking ahead, we are filled with excitement for the continued growth and success that the coming year holds for us all.

We look forward to seeing you in person in our forthcoming events and engaging in our discussions online and offline.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a fulfilling New Year!
