On 21 November 2025, the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) held its Steering Committee (SC) meeting in Brussels, focusing on organizational renewal, membership development, and preparations for upcoming annual conferences, in particular the 2026 conference in Rome. Chaired by EGPA President Prof. Dr. Sabine Kuhlmann, the Committee reviewed progress since the Group’s 50th anniversary in 2025 and set priorities for the years ahead.

Building on a period of strong engagement, including more than 900 submissions, 800 participants, and 45 countries represented across 30 tracks at 2025 Conference, EGPA is entering a new phase of renewal and strategic focus.

The European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) will hold its next Annual Conference in Rome, Italy, from 24–27 August 2026, in collaboration with the Sapienza University of Rome. 


On September 16, 2025, during the IIAS General Assembly, the results of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) elections were officially ratified, marking the beginning of a new leadership cycle for 2025–2028.


The European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) celebrated its 50th anniversary with its largest conference in history, hosted by the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Public Policy in August 2025. This milestone event highlighted both the historical achievements and ongoing global impact of EGPA.


During the IIAS Presidential Address during the Opening Ceremony of EGPA 2025 Conference, the IIAS President outlined the 5 commitments for vision EGPA@60.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA), the International Review of Administrative Sciences (IRAS) has released a virtual special issue highlighting research on the evolution and challenges of public administration across Europe.


We are pleased to announce that candidacies are now open for the EGPA Steering Committee, including the position of President. As part of a vibrant and growing community of public administration scholars and practitioners, this is an opportunity to take an active role in steering EGPA’s future directions.
