Dear Honorable Members of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), Dear Peers, Colleagues and Friends,

As we are on the eve of closing the 2023 financial year, and on behalf of the entire Family and Community of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), and in my capacity as President of this Association, I have the honor of sending you this message to share with you our main achievements in 2023:

It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to two remarkable individuals who have played pivotal roles in the success of the International Review of Administrative Sciences (IRAS) – Andrew Massey, the editor-in-chief since 2013, and Catherine Humblet, the esteemed journal manager since 1983.


The latest addition to the Governance and Public Management series, titled Finnish Public Administration: Nordic Public Space and Agency, delves into the intricacies of public governance in Finland. Edited by Elias Pekkola, Jan-Erik Johanson, and Mikko Mykkänen, the book offers a comprehensive analysis of various aspects of Finnish public administration.


As we approach the end of the year, it is with great joy and gratitude that we extend our warmest Season's Greetings to the entire IIAS community. Taking a moment to look back, we truly grateful for the collective achievements and shared experiences that have made 2023 a standout year for us all.


In a week-long visit to South Africa spanning from November 20 to 27, the Director General of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), Dr. Sofiane Sahraoui, actively engaged in various academic events, solidifying global partnerships and contributing valuable insights to ongoing discussions on public governance and accreditation.


The IASIA 2024 Conference will take place in Bloemfontein, South Africa, from July 1 to 5, 2024, under the theme "Alternative Service Delivery and Sustainable Societal Responsiveness.


The EGPA 2024 Conference will take place in Athens, Greece, from September 3 to 6, 2024, under the theme "Strengthening Democratic Governance for Better Public Policies and Services".


The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) is excited to announce the commencement of the Call for Nominations for two distinguished awards: the Donald C. Stone Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Advancement and Well-Being of IASIA and The O.P. Dwivedi Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Advancement of Public Administration and Public Policy in the World.


The Trans-European Dialogue (TED) is set to convene its 13th edition in the historic city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, on March 7-8, 2024. The event falls under the auspices of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA), regional group of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), and The Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration of Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee). Hosted and organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies and the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik, TED 2024 promises to be a landmark event in the realm of public administration.


We are delighted to announce and extend our sincere congratulations to Saud Ghazi’s Alotaibi on his appointment as the new Vice-President for the Middle-East on the Council of Administration (CA) of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS). Saud Ghazi’s Alotaibi steps into this esteemed role, succeeding Abulrahman Al-Arifi from Saudi Arabia.
